In This Week at the Shop: Custom frames sometimes need alteration to finishes for the perfect look. A recent restoration required just that. In addition to strengthening the canvas and craquelure/loose paint, and retouching missing paint, the finished product required a lighter touch on the frame. This was accomplished with a light, semi-opaque wash to tone down the strength of the gold, and completed with a hand finish for years of long-lasting beauty. Thank you!
