You will also find art restoration services such as expert cleaning, re-lining, and repair of oil paintings and other works of art.
We take great care in every project, adhering to conservation and museum-quality standards for protection and longevity, and can help with period-appropriate custom frames for authenticity and historic perspective.
Along with photographic services such as portraiture, restoration, collection cataloging, print services, and fine art for sale in our shop, you can expect a specialized service combination hard to find in Northern New England.
Our Story
From humble beginnings in 1975, Claremont Custom Framing has become the region’s trusted source for framing, repair and conservation of cherished artwork. Founder David Putnam started out as a picture framer, fine-art photographer and art collector, honing skills and expertise by working with art lovers, collectors and representatives of estates with significant art collections. During its forty-five year history, David, together with his wife Cindy, helped to enhance and preserve countless works of art, from priceless artwork destined to museums, to thousands of pieces destined to a priceless place in the hearts of clients near and far.
Today
Today Claremont Custom Framing enjoys the trust and friendship of artists, collectors, and clients from around the region and abroad, who have come to appreciate our work as professional, high-quality, and long lasting. In 2020 Andy Lafreniere – a local creative professional and long time friend of David and Cindy – took his creative experience and love for our work, and became a partner in our business. David, Cindy, and Andy look forward to the next chapter of service and support for art lovers of all kinds, and for the beautiful art that you entrust into our care.
