Professional Cleaning and Restoration of Oil Paintings & Other Art
Damage, dirt, grime, sunlight, moisture, and age can take their toll on your work of art. Let’s help restore its beauty.
All components of an oil painting will react to environmental conditions that impact the art. Over time, the surface of a canvas can become damaged by dust, dirt, grime, tobacco smoke, humidity, aging varnish, mold or mildew, pests, UV light, and more. And the materials underlying the paint can weaken with age causing cracks, and flaking paint.
Not to mention accidental damage like tears or holes.
Whether monetary or sentimental in value, our oil painting restoration brings your art back toward its original beauty. We can safely clean surfaces, in-paint where flaking or other paint damage has occurred, re-line and repair canvas, and repair certain frame types.
You can expect repair, care against further damage, and beautiful results:

What’s in a restoration? It depends.

Other Art – particularly paper
Paper artwork such as, lithographs, watercolors, etchings, or pastels, present different issues than oil paintings. These can suffer from fading, foxing, mildew & water damage, acid from old cardboard or paper backing and mats, stains and more. Plus, paper is not as resilient as paint and canvas. Solutions can be simple, like new, acid-free mounting and UV-filtered glazing, or more complicated, and more delicate. We can make modest but important improvements to many works on paper, including services like treatment against mildew, archival acid-free mounting, protective framing/glazing, and light repair, cleaning, or retouching. When we can’t, we have access to specialists who can better address your particular art. Just bring it by our shop to discuss.
Let’s bring your artwork back to life.
