
One of my main objectives in watercolor painting is to create light through the use of shadow. In painting ordinary images, I find a fascinating interplay between the two. The transparency of the medium helps to bring shadows alive while allowing the light to glow.

Robert J. O’Brien is an artist/painter currently living and working in Perkinsville, VT.
Robert is a national award winning watercolor artist, who has resided in Vermont since 1977. He has painted in the watercolor medium for over 40 years, and focuses his work on landscape, floral and architectural studies. His paintings are noted for the play of light and shadow.
Robert offers artwork for sale, occasional workshops, and an introductory Foundations of Watercolor video course at Artists Network.
